The Attorney For The Central Java Police Chief Did Not Bring Evidence At The Pretrial Session Of The NCO Extortion Case

The attorney for the Central Java Police Chief as the defendant did not file evidence of letters and witnesses in the pretrial trial for alleged extortion in the selection of the Central Java Police NCO in 2022.

In the trial agenda for submitting proof of the letter, only the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) attorney as the applicant submitted the proof of the letter in question.

"There are five pieces of letter submitted by the applicant. For the respondent, there is no proof of a letter," said Judge Kairul Soleh, who chaired the trial at the Semarang District Court (PN), Central Java, Thursday, April 13, which was confiscated by Antara.

After receiving the letter's evidence, the judge asked the readiness of the two parties to file witnesses and experts.

Both MAKI as the applicant and the Central Java Police Chief as the respondent will not apply for witnesses or experts.

For this matter, Kairul Saleh invited the two parties to conclude at the trial which was held on Friday, April 14.

The attorney for the Central Java Police Chief, when met after the trial, was reluctant to provide information related to today's trial.

Meanwhile, MAKI Utomo Kurniawan's attorney said there were five pieces of letter, including legal standing MAKI as well as documentation of various reports in the mass media regarding the alleged police officer candidate case.

Utomo said MAKI did not file witnesses or experts because from the start it had suspected that the Central Java Police Chief's attorney would not submit it.

Previously, it was reported that five police officers suspected of being the broker for accepting police officers at the Central Java Regional Police were being prosecuted. The handling of the case was carried out by the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police.

Five police officers are Kompol AR, Kompol KN, AKP CS, Bripka Z, and Brigadier EW. They have been proven to have violated the Police Professional Code of Ethics.

Three police officers, namely Kompol AR, Kompol KN, and AKP CS were sentenced to two years of demotion; while the other two, namely Bripka Z and Brigadier EW, were sentenced to be placed in special places for 21 days and 31 days, respectively.

In their actions, the police officers obtained money collected from the parents of prospective non-commissioned officers with a total amount of Rp. 9 billion.
