Organda Urges Travelers Not To Be Tempted By Cheap Bus Tickets Without Checking Fleet Licenses

YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Special Region Land Transport Organization (Organda) asked the public to be aware of bus ticket fraud during the Lebaran 2023 homecoming period.

"We need to educate because during homecoming like this many are looking for opportunities to deceive people," said Head of Organda DI Yogyakarta, Hantoro in Yogyakarta, Thursday, April 13, as quoted by Antara.

According to him, the mode of fraud during Lebaran homecoming is usually done by offering bus tickets at a low price.

However, after the prospective passenger bought a ticket, the bus that was expected to take him to his hometown did not come.

Hantoro said that the closer Eid al-Fitr, bus fares generally experienced an increase, both for inter-provincial intercity buses (AKAP) and tourism buses.

According to him, the tariff increase is natural because bus companies bear operational expenses along with the level of congestion that affects the length of the trip.

"Don't let our brothers and sisters choose the cheap ones, but it turns out that after we paid for the tickets, the bus didn't come," said Hantoro.

To avoid fraud, he hopes that prospective passengers will not only focus on the low tariff offered, but also need to ensure that the bus they want to ride has a license from the government.

"Please choose a bus that has a license from the government, the name is clear, the office is clear, the pool must also be clear," he said.

Ahead of the 2023 Lebaran homecoming flow, the DIY Organda prepared as many as 600 units of fleet to serve passengers consisting of 200 Inter-City Inter-Provincial (AKAP) buses and 400 tourism buses.

Most of the prepared fleets will carry out passenger collection in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi with the aim of going to the cities of Yogyakarta, Purworejo, Gunungkidul, to Klaten, Central Java.

In addition, there is also a departure from Yogyakarta to Sumatra which is usually served by regular buses or AKAP.
