LSI Survey: Ganjar Pranowo's Electability Top Of 19 Candidates For Presidential Candidates 2024

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) has recovered from the results of a survey regarding the electability of prospective presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election. As a result, Ganjar Pranowo was ranked first in a simulation of 19 names.

Director of LSI, Djayadi Hanan conveyed Ganjar's electability in the simulation of 19 names ahead of Prabowo Subianto and Anies Baswedan.

"Ganjar was chosen the most at 19.8 percent. Then Prabowo was 19.3 percent, Anies Baswedan was 18.4 percent," said Djayadi in a release broadcast via YouTube, Sunday (9/4/2023).

Djayadi conveyed the electability of the fourth and next candidates, namely Ridwan Kamil (5.8 percent); Sandiaga Uno (2.9 percent); Gibran Rakabuming (2.7 percent); Mahfud MD (2.3 percent); and Erick Thohir (2.1 percent).

Furthermore, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (2 percent); Puan Maharani (1.4 percent); Airlangga Hartarto (0.9 percent); Gatot Nurmantyo (0.6 percent); Tri Rismaharini (0.6 percent); Ma'ruf Amin (0.5 percent); Khofifah Indar Parawansa (0.4 percent); Muhaimin Iskandar (0.3 percent); Budi Gunawan (0.1 percent), Bambang Soesatyo (0.1 percent), and Tito Karnavian (0 percent).

"About 19.8 percent have not shown their choice," said Djayadi.

The target population of this survey is Indonesian citizens aged 17 years and over or married and have a phone/cellphone, about 83% of the total national population. The survey was conducted from March 31 to April 4, 2023.

The selection of samples is done through the random digit dialing (RDD) method. RDD is a technique of randomly selecting samples through the process of generating telephone numbers.

With the RDD sample technique, 1,229 respondents were selected through the process of random phone number generation, validation, and screening.

The survey margin of error is estimated to be close to 2.9% at 95% confidence level, a simple random sampling assumption. Interviews with respondents were conducted by telephone by trained interviewers.
