JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, said that the Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) Number 1 of 2022 concerning Amendments to Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections or Election Perppu will be brought to the plenary session to be asked for approval to become a Law on Tuesday, April 4, tomorrow.

"Tomorrow, God willing, what's said. I wanted the deliberative body, in the end, no deliberative body, to be represented. God willing, tomorrow morning the Perppu will be made into law," said Doli, Monday, April 3.

With the existence of the Election Perppu which will later be passed into law, Doli assesses that the election organizers namely the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), and the Election Organizer Ethics Council (DKPP) already have complete facilities in carrying out their duties.

The Golkar politician also asked the three election organizers not to violate the provisions of the law in carrying out their duties. Because Doli reminded that the Election Perppu had taken days and days of attention in the deliberation process.

"Use the law as well as possible, including if there is a problem, solve it with the existing facilities or regulated in the law," said Doli.

Doli also reminded election organizers not to make efforts that violate the constitution, especially with regard to efforts to postpone elections.

"I think the message conveyed by all friends and the leadership of Commission II have understood. We are in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution, elections are every 5 years, so there should be no additional efforts or movements not to heed the mandate of the 45 Constitution," said Doli.
