BANDARLAMPUNG - The manager of Lampung's Radin Inten II Airport predicts that passenger movements will increase by 11 percent during the Eid 2023 transportation period.

This prediction was stated by the Executive General Manager (EGM) of Lampung Radin Inten II Airport, Untung Basuki.

"Our prediction is that during the Eid 2023 transportation period there will be an increase in flight traffic or passenger movements at Radin Inten Airport", he said when contacted from Bandarlampung, Lampung, Saturday.

He continued, in the 10 days before Eid Al-Fitr until 10 days after or April 12-May 3 2023 it is projected that there will be an increase in the number of passenger movements reaching 46,110 passengers, an increase of 10-11 percent compared to the 2022 Eid transportation period.

"So during the Eid 2022 transportation, passenger movements totaled 40,608 people, and this year it will increase by 10-11 percent or there will be 46,110 passengers in the same period in different years", he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 1.

He explained that it is estimated that there will also be an increase in aircraft movements, with the number reaching 300 flights from the same period in the previous year which were only 270 flights, or if converted there will be an increase of 11 percent as well.

"In the first two months of 2023 there was an increase in flight traffic, with the number of passengers reaching 2,000 people. Meanwhile, in March it rose again to 2,200 people per day", he said.

According to him, during the peak of the 2023 Eid homecoming flow, it is estimated that passenger movements will reach 2,500 people per day.

"At the beginning of Ramadan it was not very visible for an increase in passengers, usually at the end of Ramadan the movement of passengers began to increase quite significantly, it could have reached 2,500 people per day", he continued.

He added that to maintain the comfort and safety of passengers during the 2023 Eid homecoming period, his party has provided a special post accompanied by officers from across sectors.

"Apart from providing the post, inspections have also been carried out on aircraft trajectories, readiness of supporting facilities and officers who will be on duty during the Eid 2023 transportation period, so that this year's homecoming will be safe and memorable", he concluded.
