Preventing Crime, Central Jakarta Police Establish 28 Command Posts At Central Jakarta Prone Points

Central Jakarta Metro Police established 28 Ramadan posts at a number of points prone to street crimes and brawls throughout Central Jakarta.

"We have established 28 monitoring posts in eight sub-districts or police stations. This step is to prevent street crimes, brawls and other criminal acts from occurring," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Komarudin when contacted, Wednesday, March 29.

Kombes Komarudin said there were 350 joint personnel from the National Police and the TNI who joined the RT and RW at the post. In fact, they only join the residents, members routinely carry out patrols.

"We are conducting patrols to prevent street crimes, brawls and other crimes that are troubling the residents," he said.

Kombes Komarudin hopes that the establishment of the monitoring post can narrow the space for criminals to move. According to the records of the Central Jakarta Metro Police since the post was established, two groups have been arrested.

"What we have secured is indicated to want a brawl, one of which is carrying a sharp weapon (Sajam) of the type of sickle," he said.
