NasDem Confirms Kapuas Regent's Wife Becomes A KPK Suspect And Has Reported It To The Party

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party DPP confirmed that member of Commission III of the NasDem faction of the DPR RI Ary Eghani Ben Bahat, was named a corruption suspect with the Regent of Kapuas who is also his husband, Ben Brahim S Bahat by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). NasDem Party Deputy Secretary General Hermawi Taslim, said Ary Egahni had informed the party of his legal status. "It is true, the wife of the Kapuas Regent of the Indonesian House of Representatives from NasDem. He has informed the party on his KPK status," Hermawi said when confirmed, Tuesday, March 28. He emphasized that the NasDem Party will respect the applicable legal process. "NasDem always respects the ongoing legal process," he said.

It is known that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Kapuas Regent Ben Brahim S. Bahat and DPR RI member Ary Egahni as suspects. Both are suspected of cutting payments for civil servants in Kapuas, Central Kalimantan and accepting bribes from other parties. "Currently, the KPK has conducted an investigation and named the party as a suspect related to alleged corruption by state officials," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, March 28.
