Kebel Semrawut Risks Raising Fire Sparks, Utilities Owners Asked To Comply With SOPs

JAKARTA - Head of the City Facilities and Utilities Infrastructure (PSUK) Division of the DKI Jakarta Highways Office, Hananto Krisna, assessed the dangers of the presence of unordered cables that straddled the roof of the building. Mainly throughout the rainy season.

Hananto reflected on the incident of fallen trees resulting in the installation of aerial network cables in the form of fiber optic cables and PLN electric cables becoming chaotic. There were even cables that emitted sparks.

Since the incident of a fallen tree on Jalan Soepomo, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 15, Hananto has urged the owner of the utility network to install cables according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent potential fires.

"In order to avoid a fire, the Bina Marga task force team continues to coordinate with the owner of the utility network in tidying up the cables carefully, quickly and carefully according to the SOP," said Hananto in his statement, Friday, March 24.

Furthermore, Hananto said, the process of structuring city facilities and infrastructure (sarpras) was also carried out by prioritizing the safety of residents and synergizing with various parties.

The arrangement of infrastructure carried out in accordance with the SOP carefully is important to implement in order to realize Jakarta in line with global cities in the world, because neatly arranged sarpras is one of the characteristics of a global city.

"In terms of sarpras arrangement due to the incident of a fallen tree which caused the city's sarpras to be dangerous for residents, carried out with the principle of prioritizing the safety and comfort of residents," he said.
