2,400 Liters Of Cooking Oil And 1 Ton Of Sugar Pasir Disperindag In South Kalimantan Through Market Operations

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan (Kalsel) through the local provincial trade office intensified cheap market operations or the main market for two commodities, namely cooking oil and sugar in 13 districts or cities, during Ramadan 1444 Hijriah.

"The cheap market for the two commodities will take place from March 23 to April 18, 2023, rotating in 13 regencies/cities in South Kalimantan," said Acting Head of the South Kalimantan Province Industry Office, Dwi Ayu Mariati, Antara, Wednesday, March 22.

Focus on two commodities, he said, so that people do not find it difficult to buy and the price does not soar.

In addition, said Dwi Ayu, so that inflation does not increase in South Kalimantan. Therefore, an intensively low market was held to curb the rate of rising inflation in South Kalimantan which was around 6.11 percent last month.

The amount of cooking oil and sugar commodities that will be circulated for each cheap market title is 2,400 liters of cooking oil and one ton of sugar.

"The price of cooking oil is sold for Rp. 12 thousand per liter and sugar is also sold for Rp. 12 thousand per kilogram," said Dwi Ayu.

The cheap market from the Banjarmasin City Government is in the form of 12 thousand packages subsidized at Rp. 15 thousand, consisting of two liters of cooking oil and two kilograms of sugar, sold for only Rp. 45 thousand.

This more intensive focus on cheap markets is in the highest area of inflation, such as Banjarmasin City, Kotabaru Regency and Tabalong Regency.

Dwi Ayu also conveyed that the activities were also in accordance with the instructions of the Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor, where it was stated that cheap market operations continued to be intensified for all basic needs, especially during Ramadan.

The community's need for basic commodities during the month of Ramadan is estimated to increase, so it must continue to be maintained in stock of basic necessities and prices do not soar.

"This is part of the government's efforts to ease the burden on people who fast," he said.
