PalangAKARAYA - Mayor of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan), Fairid Naparin invites local residents to increase their vigilance against the threat of the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) caused by the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which currently reaches 37 cases.

"We ask the public to be aware of and anticipate the spread of dengue by implementing a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS)," Fairid said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 20.

He invited the public to actively carry out a draining program, cover water reservoirs, bury used goods, and sow abate powder (3M plus) to prevent the development of dengue-spreading mosquitoes.

Fairid also instructed the Health Office through the puskesmas to intensify the socialization of dengue prevention, especially in areas prone to the spread of the disease.

Moreover, he said, based on data from the Health Office during January to early March 2023, 37 reports were recorded regarding the spread of dengue fever and 45 reports related to dengue fever (DD).

Head of the Palangka Raya City Health Office, Andjar Hari Purnomo, said that his party continues to intensify the anticipation of the spread of the disease, including through socialization at the puskesmas and maximizing the role of the larva monitoring interpreter.

However, he still invites the community to play a bigger role in eradicating the spread of dengue fever. "All parties must be involved. Especially now that our area is still often rained, causing a lot of clean water to be used by Aedes mosquitoes to breed," he said.

Andjar invites the public to cultivate a clean and healthy lifestyle, carry out healthy community movements, and carry out Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN).

According to him, these efforts can start from simple things such as diligently draining water reservoirs, always implementing the 3M program, namely closing water reservoirs and burying or removing used items that can hold water.

The Health Office through the puskesmas has also prepared Abate powder which can be obtained free of charge by the public.
