The process of repairing and reconstructing the Bogor-Sukabumi railway line which landslides at KM 2 + 6 / 7 is estimated to take 3 months. The location of the landslide is precisely located in Sirnasari Village, Empang Village, South Bogor District, Bogor City.

"Because the landslide cliffs are very steep and the stretch is long enough that it will take 3 months to completely recover," said Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi while inspecting the landslide location, Friday, March 17.

However, a rail line that has not been affected by landslides can be passed by the Bogor-Sukabumi train since Thursday morning, March 16, 2023.

The operation of the Pangrango train was carried out after the steel sheet pile was installed at the landslide site to ensure the safety of the train. Previously, trials were also carried out using locomotives.

"We have started to operate the downstream route which has just been completed. But I suggest you have to be careful, the speed is reduced when crossing the avalanche point, if necessary the passengers are limited," said Budi.

For the next stage, said Budi, repairs and complete rail line reconstruction were carried out. However, the construction process will begin after all landslide victims have been successfully evacuated.

"We hope to install a 15-day stake, but because this is a very steep landslide, it will take us 3 months to do a thorough recovery," said Budi Karya.

Budi also asked residents not to build buildings, especially for housing on land owned by PT KAI, especially areas prone to landslides.

"So if you build a house, don't stay here, if you are farming, go ahead, especially the area at the deep level. If there is a house below, it can make the land unstable," he said.

However, to overcome this, Budi said he would cooperate with the Ministry of PUPR to help the community to get a decent house.

"So they don't live here anymore. Of course this incident must be a lesson for all of us and don't want to be the next disaster," he concluded.
