After The Head Of The West Nusa Tenggara Energy And Mineral Resources Office, The Prosecutor's Office Said There Was New Potential Suspects In Iron Sand Mining Corruption Case

MATARAM - Assistant for Special Crimes at the West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office Ely Rahmawati said there is potential for a new suspect to be named in the case of alleged corruption in the iron sand mining activity in the Dedalpak Block, East Lombok Regency.

"In the process, it is possible that there will be new suspects," said Ely in Mataram, reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 14.

For this reason, he ensured that the investigation process which had uncovered the roles of the two suspects would still proceed on the agenda of strengthening evidence. One of them is by examining the statements of the witnesses and the two suspects.

Strengthening evidence also leads to tracing state losses. To get this, investigators partnered with an audit expert from the NTB Representative Office for Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"So, the loss is still in the audit process with BPKP. We cannot reveal the process. What is certain, is we are still waiting for the results," he said.

The two suspects named by investigators on Monday are the Head of the NTB Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Service with the initials ZA and the Director of PT Anugerah Mitra Graha (AMG) with the initials RA.

Investigators named both of them suspects under Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes.

Ely added that the determination of the two as suspects was based on the results of the court case which indicated that there was an alleged abuse of authority in the iron sand mining activities by PT AMG in the Dedalpak Block.

After the determination, investigators carried out detention by entrusting the two suspects at the State Detention Center at the Mataram Class IIA Penitentiary.
