SURABAYA - As many as 5,000 cadres of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) participated in the Indonesian National Love Gymnasium (Sicita) at the Heroes Monument, Surabaya City, East Java, Sunday, March 12.

"Are all of them ready to win the hearts of the people?" said the Daily Executive (Plh) of the East Java PDIP DPD Chairman Budi Sulistyono while burning the spirits of the Banteng Surabaya cadres who participated in the Sicita exercise.

The atmosphere at the Hero Monument, which is an icon of the City of Heroes, was so lively, reddened with the presence of thousands of Bull cadres. Present were the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi, Deputy Mayor of Armuji, Acting Chairman of the East Java PDIP DPD Budi Sulistyono and Chairman of the PDI-P DPC Surabaya Adi Sutarwijono and his staff.

Budi Sulistyono, who is familiarly called Kanang, asked all cadres to continue to be enthusiastic about going to the community, work hand in hand with the people in all situations, both joy and sorrow. Only with that togetherness with the people, he said, PDIP could win three times in a row, aka a hat trick in 2024.

"Let's welcome the 2024 victory with real work for the people. Is everything ready?" said Kanang, greeted by the "ready" pet of thousands of cadres who attended. The sound of the independent hatchers then forested, echoing from the corners of the 1.3 hectare Tugu Pahlawan field.

Chairman of the Surabaya PDIP DPC Adi Sutarwijono said the joint gymnastics program was a form of enthusiasm for all Surabaya PDIP cadres to promote healthy living among residents.

"Simana Sicita has been played in villages by PDI-P cadres and thousands of gymnastics groups throughout Surabaya. This is a form of PDI-P's responsibility in inviting the public to live a healthy life, besides of course we oversee better health service policies for residents," said Adi.

Adi said the Hero Monument was chosen as the location for the joint Sicita exercise because it was a symbol of the spirit of mutual cooperation, namely Suroboyo in facing various challenges, including at that time against the invaders.

In the Hero Monument, there are 10 arches with 11 segments. These numbers mean the 10th, the month of my life, such a historic time when the city's war took place on November 10, 1945.

"So in Tugu Pahlawan today we agreed to ignite the spirit of fighting poverty, the spirit of healthy living, the spirit of economic independence, which is a joint commitment of all PDI-P cadres, including the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi and Vice Mayor Armuji," said Adi who is also the chairman of the Surabaya DPRD.

Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi said that Sicita's gymnastics is the PDI-P's commitment to improving people's health and coolness. This dress combines the choreography of biased movements as well as nationalistic songs that spread the spirit of nationality.

"Scita is universal in nature, PDI-P donations for the nation. So in Surabaya, Sedam Sicita continues to be promoted from village to village," said Eri.

This mass cycita gymnastics program also contributes to the economy of the residents. Hundreds of traders stuck in the Hero Monument, selling meatballs, tempeh, ice tea, lontong racing, and a variety of traditional foods.

Not only that, hundreds of lyns or city transportation also have a positive impact. Hundreds of lyns were rented by cadres from 31 sub-districts throughout Surabaya.
