Taking Advantage Of EBT, Pertamina Hulu Rokan Builds 64,000 Solar Panels At The Rokan WK

PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) built a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) covering an area of 28.2 hectares (Ha) in the PHR worker housing complex in WK Rokan.

The PLTS was built with a panel of 64,000 panels spread across 3 Rokan WK points, namely in workers' housing complexes in Rumbai, Duri and Dumai.

PHR Corporate Secretary Rudi Arifianto said the PLTS construction collaborated with PT Pertamina Power Indonesia as Pertamina's Subholding in the field of New and Renewable Energy.

"With the abundance of solar power sources in the Rokan Block, it is deemed appropriate for PHR to build PLTS in Rokan WK as a form of commitment to use environmentally friendly energy," said Rudi, quoted on Saturday, March 11.

Rudi explained that the location and geographical conditions of the Rokan WK provide high photovoltaic power output potential for PLTS installation, which is an energy source that produces environmentally friendly electricity.

The method used is solar energy in the Rokan WK collected by PLTS which is built with ground mounted and rooftop type. Furthermore, the energy captured is then changed through an inverter so that the electrical energy can be utilized in the Rokan WK, "explained Rudi.

Rudi said the production capacity to be produced by the PLTS is 25 MWp with an efficiency potential of 4.3 million US dollars per year.

Rudi further added that the PLTS generates energy of 32.42 GWh per year. Currently, the PLTS is still in the construction completion stage and is planned to be used this year.

"The PLTS that we have built also has an impact on reducing CO2 emissions by 23,000 tons per year and reducing the carbon tax by 48.261 per year, which of course has an impact on the world," said Rudi.

PHR WK Rokan is part of the PHR Regional Sumatra under the auspices of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) as Pertamina's Upstream Subholding. In addition to producing oil and gas for the state, PHR manages social and environmental responsibility programs with a focus on education, health, community and environmental economics.
