The Special Committee (Pansus) for Mining Investigation (IP) of the East Kalimantan Provincial DPRD (Kaltim) visited the location of an illegal mining company in Suko Mulyo Village, North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU), which is an area around the State Capital (IKN) Nusantara.

"We directly visited the mining operational location which is included in the list of 21 fake mining business permits (IUP), namely PT Tata Kirana Megajaya," said Deputy Chair of the Special Committee for the East Kalimantan Provincial DPRD IP M. Udin at the PPU, Thursday, March 9, as reported by Antara.

Udin said that PT Tata Kirana Megajaya is still operating. In fact, his party found violations of coal transportation that still cross public roads, be it national roads, provinces, or district roads.

The Deputy Chairperson of the IP Special Committee assessed that the company had made multiple mistakes. The reason is, the basic operation is illegal, plus coal transportation activities through public channels, not special hauling routes that should be used.

The hauling violation was stated in Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 10 of 2012 concerning the Implementation of Public Roads and Special Roads for Coal and Palm Oil Transportation Activities containing sanctions for mining and palm oil companies that use public roads with a fine of Rp. 50 million, and can even be sentenced to imprisonment.

"Central coal transport trucks are absolutely not allowed to cross public roads. However, in the case in Sepaku District it is even transported during the day, it goes hand in hand up to 30 to 40 units, even routinely every day. As a result, the public road used as a hauling is now in a badly damaged condition," said the board member while monitoring and following the truck's journey.

He said this finding was a note in making recommendations related to the work of the Special Committee for IP to the plenary session of the upcoming East Kalimantan Provincial DPRD.

The Special Committee for the PI requested the East Kalimantan Regional Police to take action against the operational activities of mining companies in Sepaku District, which are included in the list of 21 fake IUPs as released by the Investment and One Stop Service Service (DPMPTSP) and the East Kalimantan Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office.

According to him, the violations committed by the company cannot be justified, especially since these activities are close to the IKN Nusantara area, which is currently under construction.

The Special Committee member also traced the entry and exit area to the mining area of PT Tata Kirana Megajaya on Jalan Gunung Keraksan RT 01 Dusun 1. However, because the truck was in and out in a row plus rainy weather, his party postponed entry to the company.

"However, in the middle of the trip, we found piles of coal which were partly packaged in sacks," said Udin.

He regretted that the company was still operating, even though it was included in the release of an illegal company by the East Kalimantan Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office. The plan of the Special Committee will deepen and follow up on the company's activities to the East Kalimantan Police so that the results of the Special Committee's work progress.

Meanwhile, the Head of Mineral and Coal at the East Kalimantan Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Sukariamat, representing the relevant agencies, also joined the Special Committee group. He admitted that he had visited the company directly. However, it has not been successful because of very tight security.

According to Sukariamat, the issue of the coal mining company PT Tata Kirana was also questioned by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"In fact, from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, I said it was indeed illegal mining. Therefore, I also helped direct the Special Committee where the location is," he concluded.
