Police Destroy 25.4 Tons of Marijuana in Aceh

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Police Chief Inspector (Kapolda) General Ahmad Haydar said that 25.4 tons of marijuana were destroyed by the police in the far western province of Indonesia in the last two days.

"25.4 tons of cannabis were destroyed in two places in Aceh. The forbidden plants that were destroyed came from fields with a total area of ​​43 hectares," said Ahmad Haydar in Banda Aceh, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 9.

The location of the destroyed cannabis fields is in Aceh Besar District with an area of ​​11 hectares spread over two points with a total number of plants reaching 30 thousand stems.

Then, in Nagan Raya Regency with a land area of ​​32 hectares spread over seven points. While the number of plants reached 160 thousand stems and 12 sacks of dry marijuana weighing 20 kilograms.

Kapolda said the destruction of the cannabis fields was the commitment of the police in eradicating and combating the distribution of cannabis-type narcotics.

"The destruction is to stop the supply of cannabis. The destruction is also part of the National Police Chief's quick wins program and the National Police (Polri) setting agenda for 2023," he said.

"Indirectly, the destruction of the cannabis fields has saved five million people from the bad influence of cannabis. The cash flow from the destroyed cannabis reached IDR 380 billion," continued the Kapolda.
