JAKARTA - The police have decided to increase AG (15)'s legal status as a child in the case of mistreatment of David Ozora. Mario Dandy Satryo's lover was detained at the Social Welfare Implementation Agency (LPKS).

Talking about LPKS, of course not many people know about it. Apparently, the place is a social institution that is intended for children who are in conflict with the law, both as perpetrators and victims.

Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Ai Maryati said LPKS is an institution under the Ministry of Social Affairs. Its authority to provide psychosocial protection and rehabilitation for children requires special protection or AMPK, one of which is children in conflict with the law or ABH.

"The formation of the Center for Social Rehabilitation, social institutions and others in the regions. They serve children who are in a legal conflict as well as victims who need psychosocial rehabilitation," Ai told VOI, Thursday, March 9.

In other words, LPKS does not resemble a prison cell for criminals. But more like a social institution.

In fact, you could say LPKS is not a place of detention. However, as a temporary shelter until the legal process at the investigation and investigation stage is completed.

"Not (cells, red) this is a place to store ABH which is protected by law. The legal language is detention because it is in the process of investigation and investigation," said Ai.

For information, investigators decided to detain AG at LPKS for 7 days. There are several underlying reasons.

For objective reasons, the detention was carried out because the threat of punishment for Mario Dandy's lover was more than five years in prison.

In addition, investigators also have subjective reasons. For example, it is feared that they will run away, destroy evidence, and repeat criminal acts.

However, specifically for cases involving children such as AG, there are reasons in itself. Investigators considered that Mario Dandy's lover needed assistance.

"So there are also special considerations regarding AG as a child who is in conflict with the law. He needs assistance from all kinds of things, coincidentally his parents are sick and so on," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi.

In this case, AG is formulated under Article 76 c in conjunction with Article 80 of the Child Protection Law and or 355 paragraph 1 in conjunction with 56 subsidiary 353 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code subsidiary 351 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.
