Meet Romy, PDIP: With PPP We Are Neighbors, Just Knock On The Door

The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto confirmed that he had a meeting with the Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Advisory Council Muhammad Romahurmuziy or commonly called Romy. This activity is considered normal because the offices of the two parties are neighbors in the Diponegoro Street area, Central Jakarta.

"We meet each other with PPP, especially we are neighbors. We just need to knock on the door of our neighbors," said Hasto in a written statement, Monday, March 6.

Moreover, PDIP did not only meet with PPP. Hasto said, there were a number of parties they had met, namely Golkar, the National Mandate Party (PAN), to the National Awakening Party (PKB) and the Gerindra Party.

As a reminder, Golkar, PAN, and PPP have established political cooperation through the United Indonesia Coalition. Meanwhile, PKB and Gerindra have formed the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition.

Through the meeting, his party often discusses many things. In addition, Hasto ensured, PDIP is ready to cooperate with anyone who has a history of building a nation.

"Meetings also with Golkar, Gerindra, PAN, our PKB often have dialogues so there are no problems," he said.

"The PDI-P is collaborating with parties, especially those with historical heritage in developing this republic," added Hasto.

Romy through his personal Instagram account, @romahurmuziy uploaded the moment of the meeting between him and Hasto on Wednesday, March 1. During the meeting, there were a number of discussions including equating perceptions of the situation and national political conditions, as well as discussing the Election System which was being approved at the Constitutional Court (MK).

Romy, who was confirmed by the media, said that one thing that was underlined from the meeting was that as fellow ideological and historical parties, PPP and PDIP both stated that they were ready to undergo a proportional, both open and closed electoral system.

In addition, Romy mentioned that with Hasto reminisced about the travel history of the PDIP-PPP duet during the Haz Mega-Hamzah. They did this to take lessons that could be applied in the 2024 General Election.
