SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government has "conjured" the Jambangan Swimming Pool into a natural family tourism spot and also a place to accelerate the reduction of stunting and empower the community's economy.

"This place is very large, so we concept that there is a swimming pool for adults, one for children, and also stunting. Insyaallah, I am targeting it to be completed by the end of the year," said Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi while visiting the Jambangan Swimming Pool reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 6th.

Mayor Eri said the atmosphere of this swimming pool should be made fun for children and families. Later, the Jambangan swimming pool tour will also be connected to the boezem/reservoir behind it.

When inspecting the location of the Jambangan Swimming Pool, Mayor Eri accompanied by the Regional Secretary (Sekda), ranks of Regional Apparatus Heads (PD), village heads, and sub-district heads. Eri Cahyadi examines the existing facilities one by one to be repaired.

According to him, the boezem section will be equipped with tourist facilities such as water bikes, and there will also be rock climbing exercises for children and adults. Not only that, but he also wants in the future the swimming pool and boezem tourism will be connected to a horse track which is not far from the location.

"I will coordinate it first, because this side has a horse track, so later inside there is a swimming pool for stunting, a family tourism area, a children's playground, and this will become a vehicle for nature tourism, so that Surabaya residents have choices," said Mayor Eri.

The mayor, who is familiarly called Cak Eri, said that he did not want this place to be built in vain. He wanted something built by the Surabaya City Government to be able to move the people's economy.

"Whatever is built must be able to move the economy, except for the office, so I want to drive the economy, to suppress poverty, imagine if this is finished, it could be like Romokalisari Adventure Land. Poor people get jobs there, in the end, they don't become poor, he said.

Cak Eri explained, in this swimming pool there will also be a Culinary Tourism Center (SWK), but with a different concept than before. Cak Eri wanted this location to have a culinary place with a nighttime feel.

"Later it will be laid out, there will be an SWK, you can make it for young people. You can also make murals on the walls, the concept is fun because there is something for children, the pebbles are replaced with colorful colors," he said.
