Hearing The Central Jakarta District Court's Decision On Postponing Elections, This Is Ganjar Pranowo's Reaction

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, commented on the decision to postpone the election determined by the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) judge. He considered that the decision to postpone the election did not make sense.

"As a person who has sat on Commission II of the DPR RI and as a party cadre, I consider the decision and postponement of the election to be strange," he said when met after attending the inauguration of the Professor of North Sumatra University, Monday, March 6.

According to Ganjar Pranowo, the issue of postponement of elections is in the realm of Bawaslu. And that effort has been made several times, but failed.

"If I'm not mistaken, I've failed, I've failed to go to the Administrative Court. Yes, if we look at the competence of the court (Corruption Eradication Court), it doesn't enter. So it's strange," he said.

During the event, Ganjar also met with the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU. While chatting together regarding this matter, Ganjar gave a leak that the KPU would appeal.

"I met the chairman of the KPU earlier at the USU Professor's inauguration ceremony. He wants to go to the High Court for an appeal," he concluded.

For your information, the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) with the Chairman of the Panel of Judges T Oyong issued a decision which contained ordering the General Elections Commission (KPU) to postpone the stages of the 2024 General Election.

The decision was issued by the Central Jakarta District Court after granting all civil lawsuits from the PRIMA Party. In its lawsuit, the PRIMA Party feels aggrieved by the KPU in the process of verifying the administration of political parties.

As informed by Ganjar Pranowo, the KPU chairman will immediately file an appeal against this first instance court decision. We'll wait for the continuation of this case.
