Let's Hold On To The Government's Promise, Chili-Online Stock In Jakarta Is Safe Until Eid

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono and Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo reviewed the availability of food commodities at the Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta.

Based on his monitoring, Heru said that the availability of safe chilies and onions ahead of Ramadan to Eid Al-Fitr. Given, the Ministry of Agriculture has supplied hundreds of tons of chili and onions at the Kramat Jati Main Market.

"Today, the Minister of Agriculture entered a supply of approximately 17 tons of chili from Central Java (Magelang and Temanggung) and West Java (Garut and Sumedang), as well as a total of 175 tons of shallots (which entered gradually) to the Kramat Jati Main Market," said Heru, Monday, March 6.

Heru ensured that the distribution of supplies for basic goods was running smoothly. However, even though the government has made efforts to provide food stocks, Heru admits that rising commodity prices will still occur even though they are not too expensive.

"Hopefully everything can be controlled, although a little (price) can go up. Earlier the sword said it was stable. Of course, another community, we together with the Minister of Agriculture prepared the existing stock," explained Heru.

Meanwhile, Syahrul said, the availability of shallots and red chilies for HHBKN was considered very safe. However, he requested that all parties continue to escort and distribute it to all urban markets in Indonesia.

"Please support the government so that the government can always serve the community well. Mainly, for us, in providing food, including shallots and chilies. Hopefully we can do the best possible for the HBKN Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," he said.

In addition to onions, he also ensures that the availability of other basic commodities is also in a safe condition, such as the supply of rice which continues to overflow along with the main harvest in a number of areas.

"Our job from the president is to go to the field. Thank God our balance sheet is quite okay. But the President asked for validation in the field. Today it has been twice. We have prepared rice, chilies, and others, everything is safe," he said.

Previously, the DKI Provincial Government admitted that the increase in food prices due to the increase in market demand and the condition of rainfall that affected the supply entering Jakarta could not be avoided. However, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government always strives so that price increases can be controlled.
