JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI recorded sales of Eid transport tickets from February 26 to March 6, 2023, reaching around 175 thousand tickets or 15 percent of the 800 thousand tickets currently provided.
"Until now, based on our observations from February 26 to today, we have opened around 800 thousand tickets, and of this amount, around 15 percent or 175 thousand tickets have been sold," said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus in Bandung, West Java, Antara, Monday, March 6.
Joni added that his party predicts that this will continue to increase, because sales of Eid transportation tickets continue to open.
KAI provides a total of around 3.5 million regular train tickets for Eid transportation, and this is outside the additional train which will be operated by KAI.
"So later we will continue to monitor ticket sales movements, so to maximize KAI's services to the community, KAI will run additional trains and this will certainly increase the number of tickets available," said Joni.
He hopes that with the early opening scheme, people who already have plans to go home or vacation can schedule their travel plans carefully.
Train tickets for the 2023 Eid Transport period can be purchased or ordered by the public starting February 26.
Under normal conditions outside of the Eid Transport period, he said, KAI implemented a policy of selling long-distance train tickets starting from D-30 departures.
With this special policy, he said again, tickets for the Lebaran Transport Train for departure on April 12, 2023 and so on can be purchased starting February 26, 2023.
Ticket bookings can be made through the KAI Access application, the kai.id page, and other official ticket sales channels.
In this regard, prospective train passengers are reminded to be careful in entering departure dates, travel routes and personal data when placing ticket reservations.
In addition, the public is also asked to plan trips as well as possible, including the estimated travel time from home to departure stations.
