On The Fourth Day Of The Search, A 60-year-old Fisherman Who Went To Banda Neira Was Found Dead

MALUKU - The joint SAR team found La Saleh, a 60-year-old fisherman who was missing after saying goodbye to go to sea alone on Banda Neira Island, Central Maluku, on the fourth day of the search.

"The victim was found dead around the waters of Kumber Village, Banda Neira District," said Head of the Class A Search and Rescue Office Basarnas Ambon Mustari in Ambon, Maluku, Monday, March 6, confiscated by Antara.

The joint SAR team then evacuated the victim's body to his residence in Lonthor Village, Banda Besar Island, to be handed over to the family.

According to him, the fourth day of SAR operation on Sunday, March 5 uses an Inflatable Boat Rigit (RIB 07) which starts at 08.00 WIT by searching at a number of coordinate points in accordance with the MAPS SAR.

"The operation to search for victims on the fourth day did not take long because two hours of searching for the team received information from the Banda SAR Post Coordinator that the victim was found in the waters of Kumber Village, Banda Neira Island, in a state of death," explained Mustari.

The victim, on behalf of La Saleh, was known since March 1, 2023, at around 17.00 WIT, went to sea alone by boat in the waters of Banda Island.

However, until the evening the victim did not return, so information on this marine accident was received by the Banda SAR Post Coordinator and an operation was carried out to search for victims.

On the first day of the search operation, the joint SAR team only managed to find the victim's boat and there were allegations that he had fallen from the boat.
