Rapes Stepdaughter While Sleeping, A 30-Year-Old Man Is Arrested By Tanggamus Lampung Police

LAMPUNG - The police have uncovered a case of alleged rape of a minor in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung.

"The victim is the suspect's stepdaughter with the initials RB aged 12 who is still a student," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanggamus Police, Iptu Hendra Safuan, when confirmed from Krui, West Coast, Lampung, Friday, March 3, as reported by Antara.

He said the suspect SH (30), a resident of Talang Padang District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, was arrested based on a report from the victim's biological father on February 15, 2023.

"Based on the report, the results of examining witnesses and evidence, the suspect was arrested without resistance on Monday, 27 February 2023 at 11.00 WIB," he said.

He explained, the chronology of the last incident around May 2022 at 02.00 WIB at the suspect's house, in Talang Padang District, Tanggamus Regency, there was an alleged crime of sexual intercourse with a minor committed by the suspect.

Prior to the incident, the suspect approached the victim while she was sleeping, then the suspect raped her and had sexual intercourse with threats to kill her if the victim resisted.

"For this incident, the victim finally chose to tell her biological father, so the victim's biological father reported the incident to the Tanggamus Police," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the statement of the suspect SH, he admitted this act because he saw his stepdaughter more attractive because his wife was pregnant.

The suspect admitted that he had sexual intercourse with the victim four times.

"Every action was carried out with threats. The suspect argued that he liked the victim," said Iptu Hendra.

In this case, in addition to the post-mortem results, evidence was also secured in the form of the clothes of the victim and the suspect when they committed the crime.

Currently, the suspect and evidence are being held at the Tanggamus Police Headquarters for further investigation.

For this depraved behavior, the perpetrator was charged with Article 76D in conjunction with Article 81 of RI Law No. 17 of 2016 Concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law No. 1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law no. 23 of 2002 concerning child protection becomes law. With a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
