JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman emphasized that the Indonesian Army as a state tool in the defense sector must be able to guarantee the protection and security of the National Capital of the Archipelago. This is based on the issuance of Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN. Strengthening state defense in the area can be pursued through the Special Military Regional Command (Kodam) of IKN Nusantara so that it is hoped that IKN development can run in a harmonious and efficient manner. "The capital city is one of the centers of gravity, of course the Indonesian Army supports the IKN program in the development stage of the Nusantara Special Military Command. What will later be built by the Indonesian Army Headquarters, there will be the Nusantara Special Military Command. This Special Kodam will be built simultaneously until it is adjusted to the IKN development until 2045," Dudung said in his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, March 2. Dudung reminded that based on Law Number 3 of 2022 which stipulates IKN in North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan Province, the TNI, including the Indonesian Army, as a state tool in the defense sector, needs to devote their thoughts in realizing the government's program. Dudung also stated that the construction of the Special IKN Kodam would be designed using the smart defense concept.
