Anies Baswedan Receives Support To Become A 2024 Presidential Candidate From MTP Democrats

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party has officially promoted Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres). This support was announced by the Chairman of the Democrats, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) after Anies Baswedan conveyed his ideas to members of the Party High Council (MTP) at the DPP office of the Democratic Party, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, March 2. With this official support, the declaration of Anies Baswedan's candidacy in the Change Coalition is complete. "Today, the Democratic Party reiterated its commitment to running together in the future, affirming the attitude that has been conveyed by Mr. AHY, the chairman of the Democratic Party for the discussion we are discussing together in the upper house, which stipulates to carry us as presidential candidates in the year for the 2024 General Election, together with other supporting parties, namely the Nasdem Party and the Prosperous Justice Party," said Anies Baswedan during a press conference at the DPP office of the Democratic Party, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, March 2. Anies also accepted his candidacy for Presidential Candidate 2024. He stated that he was ready to bring the mandate of the Democratic Party to bring Indonesia towards change and improvement in the future. "Let us convey, with humility by asking for permission from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, we accept this great mandate, carry out this great mandate, and God willing, we are ready to walk together towards change and improvement," said Anies. The great mandate, continued the former governor of DKI Jakarta, is to maintain the constitution, care for democracy, and realize the ideals of reform.
