JAKARTA - Former national racer, Ananda Mikola was appointed as Chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) or Chairman of the 2023 Formula E Organizing Committee. Meanwhile, Ahmad Sahroni, who previously served as Chair of the OC in Formula E 2022, is now a member of the Steering Committee (SC) or the Council Director.

The chairman of SC Formula E is still held by Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet). Bamsoet said that this year's Formula E race will still involve the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI).

After the introduction of the committee and steering committee for the Jakarta E-Prix in 2023, the chairman of the MPR who also serves as general chairman of IMI said he was optimistic that the Formula E event in the second year would run smoothly and be better than last year.

"We had last year's experience which was more complicated than what we will hold in the next few months. I believe and am optimistic that this can be held and my hope is that it will be much better than the others," Bamsoet said at a press conference in Ancol, North Jakarta, Tuesday, 28 February.

One of the factors that made Bamsoet confident was that this year's race was getting better because it was no longer colored with Political tug-of-war between Anies Baswedan and opposing parties. This is because the Formula E financing scheme after Anies is no longer the Governor of DKI is business-to-business (B2B) between PT Jakarta Propertindo and its partners.

Not to mention, now the condition of COVID-19 is increasingly sloping. With these barriers reduced, the committee hopes that the number of Formula E spectators that will be held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) can reach 50 thousand people.

"In the past, we faced challenges from a very dynamic political situation, the COVID-19 situation which limited our movements. Now, now there are no more obstacles, of course, in terms of the quality of the implementation, we want this to be much better from the audience's point of view a lot," said Bamsoet.

Continuing, Deputy Chairman of IMI Cars, Ananda Mikola also admitted that he was optimistic that his party could optimally prepare for electric car racing events. Bearing in mind, most of the racing infrastructure has been built since last year.

"The condition of the circuit is very good, the asphalt is very good. I am also surprised that the grandstand is still there. I think it is minor to make improvements," said Ananda.

"Because, during the time of Mr. Roni there was indeed too much to deal with in a technical sense because the circuit was not ready, we had to pursue homologation, and even then it only came out on the third day before the race. So, at this time, God willing, I'm sure," he continued.

For information, the 2023 Formula E race will be held for two days on the 3rd and 4th of June. Now, Jakpro continues to coordinate with Formula E Operation (FEO) as the holder of the Formula E license regarding the preparation for the race event.
