JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) emphasized that it still respects the decision of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) regarding the 2024 presidential election. Although PAN supports its cadre who is also the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo runs as a presidential candidate (candidate). "As a PDIP cadre, of course Mas Ganjar will submit to his party's decision," said Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of PAN, Viva Yoga Mauladi, when confirmed Monday, February 27. It is known that PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) openly supports Ganjar Pranowo and SOE Minister Erick Thohir as presidential and vice presidential candidates in 2024. This support was conveyed by Zulhas at the opening of the PAN National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) in Semarang, Central Java, Sunday, February 26. Viva emphasized that PAN also respects Ganjar's political fats in PDIP. "PAN also respects political fats like that," he said. It's just that, Viva assessed, support is an aspiration because of the close relationship between PAN and Ganjar. Moreover, Ganjar's electability is also at the top in various survey institutions. "Mas Ganjar Pranowo is also close to PAN. From the results of the survey agency, he also has high electability," said Viva. Previously, the Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) of PDIP Sadarestuwati, warned PANs to maintain political ethics ahead of the 2024 presidential election. This is because Ganjar is a PDIP cadre who is currently still carrying out his duties as a party official. "Political ethics is very important and must be put forward. Pak Ganjar is still a cadre and PDIP party officer," Sadarestuwati told reporters, Monday, February 27. PDIP has also not announced the presidential candidate to be promoted in the upcoming elections. So, according to Sadarestuwati, it is not good if Ganjar is matched to become a presidential candidate in pairs with another figure. "Don't let it be taken," said the member of the DPR.
