JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received 18 lists of candidates for the commissioner of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) for the term of 2023-2023.
The list of candidates was conveyed by the selection committee (pansel) for candidates for KPPU members 2023-2028 which was received by Jokowi at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday, February 27.
"This morning we reported that the committee for the 2023-2028 KPPU commissioner election, which has been on duty since October 2022, has completed the results," said Pansel Chair Ningrum Natasya Sirait in a press statement after the meeting broadcast on the official YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat, quoted from Antara.
President Jokowi was accompanied by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno in receiving a report from the committee for candidates for the 2023-2028 KPPU.
"We report to the President that the names of 18 candidates or candidates for KPPU commissioners have been received by the President and the Minister of State Secretary," said Ningrum.
The 18 names are the result of selection from at least 228 registrants who have gone through various stages ranging from administrative selection, written tests, competency tests, medical tests, to interviews.
Furthermore, the 18 names will be forwarded by President Jokowi to the DPR RI who then chooses nine KPPU commissioners 2023-2028, before being stipulated through a Presidential Decree (Keppres).
In addition to submitting a list of 18 candidates, the Pansel also submitted a number of inputs and notes to the President regarding the screening of candidates for the 2023-2028 KPPU commissioner.
"We also submit a report containing the selection process until it is complete and we have also conveyed several additions from the members of the Pansel and the President has received inputs and notes as well as according to the schedule to convey it to the DPR in the near future," said Ningrum.
This selection was carried out to find a replacement for the 2018-2023 KPPU commissioners whose term of office will expire on April 27.
Selain Ningrum, pansel calon anggota KPPU 2023-2028 juga terdiri atas empat anggota lain yakni Nanik Purwanti, Sutrisno Iwantono, Denni Puspa Purbasari, dan Agustinus Prasetyantoko.
