The Governor of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Mahyeldi Ansharullah was amazed by the design of the Great Mosque Al hoursr located in the Gedebage Area, Bandung City. The mosque was made by the Governor of West Java (Jabar) M Ridwan Kamil. "With the design of distinctive ornaments in the form of fish scales and colorful glass," said Mahyeldi Ansharullah in his written statement, in Bandung, West Java, Monday, February 27. Mahyeldi took the time to surround the building with a size of 99x99 meters which was able to accommodate around 50,000 worshipers. "The monumental work designed by Mr. Ridwan Kamil is also known as the mosque architect. With the presence of this mosque, it also adds to the religious tourist destination for the goals of the people in West Java," said Mahyeldi.

The figure of Ridwan Kamil who is also an architect who graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) also designed the West Sumatra Grand Mosque (West Sumatra) which is located in the city of Padang, so that it became a religious tourism icon. Therefore, said Mahyeldi, the West Sumatra Grand Mosque won the Abdullatif Al Fozan Award or AFAMA award in 2021. This award is an event to present the work and design of mosques from countries with Muslim populations in the world. "The West Sumatra Grand Mosque is also Mr. Ridwan Kamil and the team that designed it, so that the West Sumatra Grand Mosque which is very proud of Minang's people is currently also recognized by all people throughout Indonesia, because its unique design resembles the gadang house oval in Minangkabau," he said.
