15,232 Or 71 Percent Of Children In Central Bangka Have Been Injected With The COVID-19 Vaccine With Kedu Dose

KOBA - Central Bangka District Health Office, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, noted that 71.17 percent of children had received the COVID-19 vaccine injection for the second dose or 15,232 people from the target of 21,400 children.

"While the provision of the first dose of vaccine for children has reached 19,123 children or reached 89.35 percent of the total 21,400 targets," said Head of the Central Bangka Health Service, Dr. Anas Maaruf, quoted by ANTARA Tuesday, February 21.

The Central Bangka Regency Government targets that by the end of the year all or 21,400 children will have received the first dose or second dose of vaccine.

"We continue to intensify, we hope that the school can help accelerate vaccination for these children," he said.

Anas also said that until now the vaccination program for various groups in Central Bangka has reached 83.84 percent (first dose) of a total of 153,277 targeted residents.

The second dose was 71.68 percent, the third dose was 31.23 percent and the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine was 433 people.

The local government continues to intensify the massive vaccination program to remote villages.

Local governments are accelerating the vaccination program to establish communal immunity so that community activities can run normally. The total number of residents who have been confirmed positive for the COVID-19 virus since 2019 until now is recorded as many as 8,138.

Of the 8,138 figures, as many as 201 people died and the rest were declared cured.

Anas appealed to residents to adhere to the COVID-19 health protocol even though the case had started to slow down since May 2022.

"The case has started to slope, but we urge residents not to be careless because the corona virus has not disappeared," he said.
