SAMARINDA - The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan has allocated a budget for the East Kalimantan Scholarship (BKT) program of IDR 375 billion in 2023 with a target of 40 thousand people.

"In 2022, the budget was IDR 304 billion and could reach 39 thousand recipients. So this year, with a budget of IDR 375 billion, our target is more than 40 thousand recipients,” said Head of the East Kalimantan Scholarship Management Agency (BP-BKT) Iman Hidayat in Samarinda as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 20.

According to Iman, registration for the East Kalimantan Scholarship (Kaltim) officially opened on Tuesday (20/22023). However, this registration period is only open for students until March 31, 2023.

Meanwhile, the BKT registration period for the new student category opens a week later, from March 1 to April 7, 2023.

"Prospective applicants can register by accessing the https://beasiswa.kaltimprov.go.id/ page," explained Iman.

Iman Hidayat explained that the registration period for students and university students was deliberately differentiated to anticipate an overload on the scholarship page on the first day of registration.

"Why are students later? Because if it's all together, then everything will pile up on the first day and the website can overload. So we take turns to anticipate," said Iman.

In general, the method of registration and scholarship categories are still the same as the previous year. There are only a few additions this year to the Complete Collaboration Scholarship category for students.

The BP-BKT added a collaboration path with the Dirgantara Marshal Suryadarma University (UNSURYA) Jakarta for the aviation department. And the Solo Health Polytechnic (Poltekes) for the Prosthetic Orthotic major.

Meanwhile, the registration for the student category also experienced a slight change from the previous year. Where previously the registration method could be done independently by students, this year it is done through schools. So the school registers its students in scholarship registration.

“The previous year's direct registration. This year it's all done through the school. With several considerations to touch more all levels. So for grades 1-5 who don't understand IT, registration can be done by the team at school," explained Iman.
