ASCOTT's property in Bali consists of 11 hotels and Serviced Apartments, under the auspices of Citdines, PREference Hotels, HARRIS Hotels, FOX HARRIS Hotels, YELLO Hotels, POP! Hotels and Beachwalk Residence, held a beach cleaning event in the Kuta Beach tourist area, under the initiative of Say No To Plastic.

Beach Clean Up collaborates with One Island One Voice - a local organization that unites various communities to carry out the biggest clean-up action in Bali, which inspires and invites various generations to care about the coastal and marine ecosystems in Bali at the same time. This event is part of the CSR & activation Program.

ASCOTT Regional Bali which aims to contribute to the island of Bali in the form of cleaning up coastal areas and also strengthening relations between members of ASCOTT, local schools, and rural communities.

This event is Bali's biggest cleaning event. Over the past six years, this movement has united more than 70,000 people in 560 locations in Bali and prevented 203 tons of non-organic waste from entering the sea. Together with community movements in Bali, we collaborated with people who thought the same way to create change.

Tourists come to Bali because of warm hospitality, green and clear beaches. Bali's nature is damaged by excessive plastic use and most of the people are still not aware of the consequences it causes by throwing garbage, especially inorganic waste, carelessly into the sea. This is certainly a big problem in Bali.

The cluster General Manager of ASCOTT Regional Bali, Nyoman Wirayasa, who acted as committee adviser to the event, said that the program was organized by ASCOTT Regional Bali to make people more concerned about protecting and preserving the environment.

"A lot of garbage is dumped in tourist areas every year. The waste includes plastic bottles, bags and plastic packaging, food and cigarette packs - reducing the beauty of the coastal nature. This is a good example for us to follow and make our environment better in the future. I am happy that this event acts as an awareness campaign to remind the public to protect our tourist area," added Nyoman Wirayasa.

The beach cleaning and cleaning activation program is in line with the 'Ascott Cares' which is our commitment to expand our culture of caring and hospitality to the people and the environment we interact with. We seek to fulfill this promise through a sustainability program, which centers on five basic pillars, namely Community, Alliance, and Rasa.
