The Army Hospital (RST) Level IV Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Kaltim) is targeted for completion in October 2023.

Chief of Staff of Korem 091/ASN Colonel Infantry Khabib Mahfud said the construction of the RST first pole had been carried out on January 6, 2023.

"If the new hospital built in Samarinda Seberang District is completed, the old hospital which is still operating on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman will move there (Samarinda is across)," he said in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Friday, February 17, confiscated by Antara.

The new RST, which was built with a budget of Rp48 billion, is on land that is integrated with the Army Company A and the Battalion C Infantry Battalion 611. Meanwhile, the old RST stands on land that is integrated with the Korem 091/ASN Headquarters.

The new RST Level IV, he said, will have 100 beds with more representative conditions than the old RST, both in terms of buildings, ventilation, and waste management.

As for patients or services, this hospital is not only to serve the TNI and TNI families, but also to the general public, it also serves BPJS Health participants.

"Of course this hospital serves the general public, it has been a long time even though this is a military facility. In fact, the number of patients who come is more common than the military. In any Army Hospital, the number of general public patients is always higher, ranging from 60-70 percent," he said.

Currently, the status of the RST is still Level IV, but along with the transfer of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in 2024, his party has planned the status of the hospital to Level III to optimize services, because the number of residents will also increase.

"If in the future it has become Level III, then other things will also increase, as currently Level IV is still led by Major, then Level III will be led by Lieutenant Colonel, then facilities and inpatient rooms must be improved," said Khabib.

For now, the construction of the hospital is assisted by the Building Engineer Detachment (Zibang), Head of Logistics Section of the Head of the Logistics Section of the Korem Log, then from Infantry Battalion 611/Awang Long to assist security.
