JAKARTA - Two widows who stole cosmetics and baby equipment at Season City Mall, Tambora District, West Jakarta, were finally released by the Tambora Police. Both were released because the victim withdrew the police report on humanitarian grounds.

"(The perpetrator) was not detained, he was only obliged to report. However, we have not stopped the investigation process," said Tambora Police Chief Kompol Putra Pratama to VOI, Wednesday, February 15.

Kompol Putra explained that the victim forgiven the actions of the two perpetrators of theft on humanitarian grounds. The perpetrator and the victim agreed to make peace and did not continue the legal process.

"The two perpetrators and victims agreed to make peace. All items stolen by the perpetrators were returned, then made a statement and signed by both parties," he said.

Tambora Police facilitated the victim's desire not to proceed to the legal process. Even so, the investigation process has not been stopped because the two perpetrators are suspected of being involved in a theft syndicate.

"We will continue to supervise by reporting first once a week," he said.

Previously, it was reported that two young widows with the initials VJ (30) and VL (31) were caught red-handed while carrying out the theft of baby equipment and cosmetics in supermarkets located at Season City Mall, Tambora District, West Jakarta.

Both were arrested by security guards guarding the mall. Meanwhile, a colleague with the initials RI (DPO) managed to escape.

The two VJ and VL perpetrators were then secured to the Tambora Police for further processing. During an examination by investigators from the Tambora Police Criminal Investigation Unit, both admitted that they were trapped in economic needs.
