JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas is happy with the marriage trend at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) which is now loved by young people. Even discussed on social media.

"Young people get married a lot at the KUA. That (a development) is extraordinary. The trend that is currently developing with so many married posts at the KUA shows that the KUA service has changed," said the Minister of Religion in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 15, as reported by Antara.

Yaqut said the trend of marriage at the KUA is proof of the success of the KUA in providing public services that are of interest to young people. This proves that KUA services continue to improve.

The Minister of Religion said the number of young people in Indonesia reached 53 percent of the total population. He hopes that the Ministry of Religion will be able to reach them and become a trigger for the KUA to continue to launch other service programs in order to get the attention of the younger generation.

"Our challenge is that the programs offered must be able to attract a large number of young people. The KUA has started to improve with the viral marriage at the KUA. Others must also, for example, empowerment programs for mosques or zakat villages," he said.

Previously, millennials and Generation Z recently enlivened the social media timeline by sharing their wedding moments at the KUA. This received a positive response from netizens.

Through the marriage contract at the KUA at a rate of zero rupiah on weekdays and working hours, the millennial generation and generation Z believe that the cost of holding a large wedding party can be allocated for other needs.
