BENGKULU - The Population and Civil Registration Service (Dukcapil) of Bengkulu Province targets as many as 25 percent of people in all regions to have used a Digital Population Identity (IND) or Digital KTP in 2023. Based on the results of BPS Bengkulu Province in 2021, the number of people in 10 districts and cities with ID cards is 1,426,020 people. "This year we are targeting those who use digital identity or from manual to digital as much as 25 percent of the total community," said Head of the Bengkulu Provincial Dukcapil Office Diah Irianti as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday 15 February.

He mentioned that changing the identity of population from manual in the form of a printed or electronic KTP (KTP-El) to digital identity is one of the demands of the times as well as an anticipation of the use of blank ID cards that continue to run low. Because digital ID cards are the transfer of e-KTPs that are currently used by Indonesians into cellphones, be it in the form of photos, or QR Codes. So that through a Digital ID card can be accessed via a cellphone or in a special application provided by Dukcapil. "This digital identity reduces the use of blanks, especially now that everything is digital. So we try to use digital identity and this has been connected and can be used for purposes," he said. Continued Diah, in the use of digital ID cards, his party still prioritizes people who want to change their identity because of damaged, lost, and others, while for beginners still use blank ID cards. Therefore, he appealed to people who want to make digital identities, can come to the nearest Dukcapil and report to the officer for later assistance in the manufacturing process.

As for the construction of population identity manually using blank ID cards, his party ensures that the needs of the community are still sufficient at both the provincial and district and city levels. "Our ID cards are around 20 thousand from what we previously proposed 80 thousand. So the needs are still sufficient," said Diah.
