JAKARTA - Commission VIII of the House of Representatives together with the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia canceled the cost of organizing the Hajj (BPIH) in 2023 tonight. The decision was taken after Commission VIII of the DPR held a meeting with the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia, Head of the Ministry of Health Hajj Center, Director General of Civil Aviation, and Head of BPKH and President Director of Saudi Airlines regarding the discussion of BPIH components in 2023 from 10.00 WIB. Originally, Commission VIII of the DPR and Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at 13.00 WIB held a work meeting to determine the cost of Hajj. However, because the previous meeting was tough, the working meeting failed to be made so that the announcement of the determination of the 2023 Hajj costs could not be knocked today. Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI Marwan Dasopang, said the working committee (Panja) of Hajj had not found a word to agree with the government, in this case the Indonesian Ministry of Religion related to the amount of items emerging from hajj financing.
