The debris from a foreign object shot down by NORAD via the F-22 is now being collected. The FBI and Canadian Police will rearrange the debris for a review of its origins.

President Joe Biden had previously ordered NORAD to bring down the foreign object over the sky of northern Canada. Biden allowed US aircraft under NORAD's command to carry out operations in close coordination with Canadian authorities.

The object has been known to the US since Friday, and has been closely monitored by NORAD 24 hours earlier.

Two F-22 aircraft from Elmendorf-Richardson Joint Base, Alaska monitored the object over US airspace with the help of a Alaska Air National Guard refueling aircraft, tracing it closely and taking the time to characterize the nature of the object, Brigadier General Pat Ryder, Pentagon press secretary reported by NBC News, Monday 13 February.

The FBI is working with Royal Canadian Mounted Police to investigate the source of the object. But many have asked the US and Canada to open the option that China is behind this.

A national security spokesman said objects shot down over Canada and Alaska differed greatly from Chinese spy balloons that were shot down on February 4.
