JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) considers the need for budget collaborations that have been in various ministries and institutions to solve youth problems

This was input when Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives conducted a Specific Working Visit (Kunspik) for Youth to Padang City, West Sumatra, Thursday, February 9.

The Kunspik team led by Member of Commission X DPR RI Muhamad Nur Purnamasidi saw constructive input related to the implementation of various youth and input for the preparation of the National Youth Grand Design (DBKN) by the Government.

Purnamasidi stated that in West Sumatra there is a lack of collaboration between institutions that deal with youth. Thus, he hopes that there will be collaboration between institutions in the DKBN so that problems related to the lack of budget can be resolved.

He explained that this happened because the youth-related budget was not only available at the Ministry of Youth but also in several other relevant ministries. "I see that it is in the Ministry of Youth, it is in the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, it is in the Ministry of Education and Culture, it is in the Ministry of Social Affairs and others that it is still running separately. Why? Because it may be the design, the design to collaborate with them for cooperation does not yet exist," he said.

"That may be part of what we arrested when we made a working visit and there was a dialogue with several stakeholders in West Sumatra," continued Purnamasidi in a statement received by Voi.id, Monday, February 13.

The small budget value related to youth, according to the Golkar Party faction politician, is actually a problem that is always discussed during work meetings and consignments with the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Because indeed the budget for youth at the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports for Fiscal Year 2023 is only around 7-12 percent of the overall budget, which is IDR 161.238 billion.

However, the budget related to youth actually exists but is spread across other Ministries/Institutions (K/L). Thus, he emphasized that the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports for collaboration, cooperation, and coordination with other Ministries/Institutions so that youth programs can be fulfilled and on target. Indeed, the point is that our budget politics between our hopes to fix youth programs with budget politics does not work, does not match. The Minister (Kemenpora RI) is also unable to convince other ministers to state that this is the key to Indonesia's success in becoming a Golden Indonesia in 2045," he said.

"So this is indeed back to budget politics. Well, the fact is that supporting infrastructure to improve capabilities, for example entrepreneurship or how they have a maximum level of leadership, everything is very minimal," he said. The legislator from the East Java IV electoral district also stated that there was another solution to overcome the problem related to the small budget for youth, namely by asking the West Sumatra Provincial DPRD for financial assistance. Youth groups can propose funds to the DPRD originating from the Council's Basic THINKing Fund (pokir).

I think this is an interesting finding that might later become a recommendation. Well, it turns out that even regions can, not only depending on the central budget, the regional budget through the existing pokir-pokir we can direct it to be encouraged," he concluded.

During this visit, other members of Commission X DPR RI were also present on this occasion, namely Putra Nababan, Martina, Himmatul Aliyah, Lisda Hendrajoni, Ledia Hanifa, Sakinah Aljufri, Dewi Coryati and Illiza Saaduddin Djamal.

Meanwhile, youth groups were represented by the Scout Organization of West Sumatra Province, Indonesian Islamic Students (PII), and youth groups from one of the political organizations in West Sumatra.
