JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the meeting of the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, with PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar on Friday, February 10, did not come out of the agreement that had been made between the Gerindra Party and PKB.

He said the meeting held by PKB with the Golkar Party had also been discussed with the Gerindra Party as a coalition partner of PKB.

"I think what we have agreed with PKB is clear. I think what PKB has done is as discussed, the visits of the parties are to strengthen each other's coalition ties," Dasco said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 11.

He also responded positively to the meeting of the two party leaders which he considered a form of friendship and political communication ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"Although later it will be different in terms of nomination, communication continues. Or then with that communication parties can join the same vision," he said.

Previously, Airlangga Hartarto held a meeting with Muhaimin Iskandar through healthy road activities together and breakfast at the Gelora Bung Karno Complex (GBK), Jakarta, Friday.

On that occasion, Airlangga stated that his party opened up opportunities for political cooperation with PKB ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"Regarding the cooperation between the Golkar Party and PKB, we state that there are very large and wide opportunities," he said.

Airlangga said that the Golkar Party and PKB both offered each other a coalition. He even said that if the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) consisting of Golkar together with PAN and PPP was merged into a coalition together with PKB-Gerindra, it would be better.

"Both of them invite. So, if both of them join stronger, better. In politics there is nothing that cannot be discussed," said Airlangga.

Muhaimin also welcomed that the PKB-Gerindra coalition was merged with KIB because it would further affect the election process.

"Oh, very good. The more the coalition ranks the more effective the election process, the better the election process, the most important thing is to equalize vision, targets and goals. That's the most important thing," said Muhaimin.
