JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena asked the Food and Drug Administration (POM) to immediately find the cause of another case of acute kidney failure and cause one of the patients to die.

Melki saw that the case of Accounting for Accounting in Children (GGAPA) reappeared. This time in Jakarta with one case, died and one is being treated at the Jakarta RSCM. For this reason, he also said the results of the drug sample test must be revealed immediately.

"Of course we ask various related parties to immediately find the cause of death of acute kidney failure in the child, whether due to drugs or other factors," he said.

"The point is that our research authority BPOM, at the National Police Headquarters Puslabfor, a private company, can immediately test and find out what was the main cause of the child's death," continued Melki in his statement, Wednesday, February 8.

Melki said this case should not happen again. He reminded BPOM to test drugs before circulating in the community.

"What is the other reason related to drugs? Of course in the future this should be the first and last experience that we have to end is where all drug testing must really be done well before it is circulated," he said.

He also said that Commission IX regretted the occurrence of acute kidney failure in children that had just occurred in DKI Jakarta.

"Regarding the death of a child in DKI Jakarta due to acute kidney failure after drinking sirop, of course, especially us from Commission IX regret the umpteenth incident in the country and mourn the victim's family for this incident," concluded Melki.
