Nduga Police Chief AKBP Rio Aleksander Penelewan led the effort to release 16 hostages who are currently in the hands of the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya. The Commander of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Kombes Faizal Rahmadani, said that currently three teams have been prepared to be dispatched to Paro, Nduga Regency. "The process is already underway and I am currently giving a briefing," Faizal told ANTARA, Wednesday, February 8. Admittedly, Egianus Kogoya and his group have been monitored for about six months in Paro. The KKB led by Egianus Kogoya, last Tuesday reportedly burned a plane belonging to Susi Air piloted by Philip Merthens, a New Zealand national.
