JAKARTA - British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has reshuffled and restructured his cabinet, including the replacement of the Conservative Party Chair in Tuesday's announcement.

PM Sunak chose Greg Hands as the new leader of the Conservative Party. The hands replaced Nadhim Zahawi's dismissal position, following the tax problem that hit him, reported the Evening Standard 7 February.

Next, PM Sunak also restructured a broad Department of Business, Energy and Industry (BEIS), to create a new energy department with better and more efficient performance.

As part of the changes, International Trade Minister Kemi Badenoch was appointed new Minister of Business and Trade, replacing Grant Shapps who will head the new Department of Energy Security.

Even so, Badenoch remains the President of the Trade Council and the Minister of Women and Equality.

At the same time, the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sports was dissolved with digital units combined with the Ministry of Science.

Michelle Donelan, who will take maternity leave later this year, was transferred to Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology. Meanwhile, Lucy Frazer occupies the position of State Minister for the Department of Culture, Media and Sports.

Interestingly, PM Sunak did not use the reshuffle this time to transfer his deputy Dominic Raab, who is also the Minister of Justice from his post, amid an investigation into eight claims of intimidation.

The reshuffle drew criticism from former Culture Minister Nadine Dorries who said: "It would be sad if @DCMS disbanded because it worked."

He added: The department has tragically no profile lately despite being the most effective intensifies. Footage records in technology, digital, gigabit launches, telecommunications, data speak for themselves.

It is known that the reshuffle was triggered by Zahawi's removal who was sacked as chairman of the Conservative Party last month after an investigation by ethics adviser PM Sunak found he failed to reveal that HMRC was investigating his tax matters while he was Chancellor.

The reshuffle comes as PM Sunak, which reduced half of inflation this year as one of its top five priorities, faced pressure from some Conservative Party supporters, to lower taxes in next month's budget.
