Had Rainfall, A Number Of Areas In South Jakarta Were Flooded

Heavy rains that flushed parts of the capital city caused flooding on five roads in South Jakarta at 15.00 WIB. Responding to this, the DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) deployed joint officers to suck up puddles of water as high as up to 40 centimeters.

"We urge you to remain careful and alert to potential inundation," said Head of the DKI BPBD Data and Information Processing Unit Michael Sitanggang, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 7.

The five roads are TB Simatupang Street in West Cilandak with a height of 40 centimeters, then Kartini Street in West Cilandak with a height of 30 centimeters.

Furthermore, Fatmawati Hospital Street is 30 centimeters high in West Cilandak, Fatmawati Raya Street is 40 centimeters high in Pondok Labu, and Andara I Street in Pondok Labu is 30 centimeters high.

BPBD DKI together with the AIR Resources Service (SDA), Bina Marga Service, DKI Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) to conduct inundation suction.

In addition, the joint agency also ensures that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads.

To pump puddles and floods, the DKI SDA Office has 494 stationary pumps in good condition and 461 mobile pumps throughout DKI Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the number of personnel, the DKI SDA Service has 4,179 blue troop personnel and pump and floodgate operators reaching 1,753 people.

For the number of heavy equipment, the DKI SDA Office noted that 230 heavy equipment were ready for use.

BPBD DKI requested that in an emergency, the public can contact telephone number 112 which is provided free and operates for 24 hours.
