3 Ministry Prepares For The Merger Of The Port System In Papua, Later Fish Exports Can Be Directly From Biak

PAPUA - The government and related stakeholders are preparing to merge the port management system in Papua. The goal is that fish exports can be carried out directly from Biak, Papua.

The merger is being drafted by the Papua Steering Committee (BPP) together with the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and the Ministry of Marine Fisheries (KKP).

"To support direct fishery exports in the autonomy areas of Papua and West Papua, two ministries of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Ministry of Transportation have the authority to manage the fishery port system so that it needs to be unified into a development acceleration program in Papua," said Deputy Setwalpres for Government Policy Support Velix V Wanggai in a statement, Tuesday, February 7, was confiscated by Antara.

Until 2023, he said, four new autonomous regions including Papua Mountains Province in Jayawijaya, Central Papua in Nabire, Southwest Papua Province based in Sorong, and South Papua in Merauke have carried out institutional arrangements for regional apparatus organizations.
