JAKARTA - The world is offering itself to help Turkey and Syria which were rocked by a great earthquake. Even Israel is also reportedly sending aid to Syria.

Reported by the Guardian, Monday 6 February, England will send 76 specialists from the SAR Team and four sniffer dogs. All of them will arrive Monday evening Turkish time.

Britain also sent an emergency medical team to assess the situation on the ground. The ministers added they were in contact with the United Nations for emergency humanitarian assistance for those affected in Syria.

Neighbors Turkey, Greece and other countries in the region have offered to send immediate aid to assist rescue efforts.

"Greece mobilizes its resources and will help immediately," Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis wrote in a tweet.

The Egyptian foreign ministry offered assistance to Turkey and Syria. Residents in Cairo felt the tremors from the earthquake.

French President Emmanuel Macron said France was ready to provide emergency assistance: "Our prayers are with the families left behind," Macron tweeted.

Stephen O'Brien, a former UN humanitarian coordinator, said Turkey had a team of sophisticated and experienced earthquake experts.

"But that's not going to happen in Syria, away from that," he said.

"The region is a conflict zone and we have not received clarity on whether the United Nations through the OCHA has a permit to enter the country," he continued.

Israel has pledged to send aid to Turkey and to Syria but is " shyly" about how the request from Syria was delivered. This is because the two countries have no official diplomatic relations.

Reuters reported that Israeli public broadcaster Kan said in a sourceless report that Russia had submitted an Israeli request to assist Syria. The Russian embassy in Israel declined to comment.

The aid Israel will send consists of blankets, tents, and medicines, Kan said, adding that the Netanyahu government has also shown a willingness to accept victims if requested.

Israeli officials did not immediately specify the aid.
