JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has requested that local governments (Pemda) be able to realize the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) since the beginning of the year. Including carrying out activities and budgets from the beginning of the year.

"It is necessary to immediately carry out activities from the beginning of the year. First, because money will be circulating in the community, moving the community's economy, and increasing people's purchasing power," said the Director General (Dirjen) of Regional Finance Development (Keuda) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Agus Fatoni in a statement, Monday, February 6.

Fatoni explained that the implementation of activities since the beginning of the year means that development can be started more quickly. Thus, the government's performance and regional development will be felt more significantly by the community, as well as a tangible manifestation of the presence of the government and the state in the midst of society.

Regions must increase the capacity of regional financial management officials and managers of goods/services, form a monitoring and evaluation team both at the central and provincial/city levels, carry out periodic meetings.

"Giving rewards and punishments to the realization of budget absorption, accelerating administrative completion and reporting of activity accountability, simplifying the form of contracts and proof of accountability for the implementation of goods/services procurement while still following the laws and regulations," he said.
