"When the victim had the courage to speak, then when this case was revealed, the handling of the case did not give the stigma to the victim and the victim's family anymore," he said on the sidelines of the Media Gathering event in Bogor, West Java (West Java), Wednesday, February 1, as reported by Antara.

The Minister of PPPA gave an example in cases of sexual violence by stepfathers in Sidoarjo, East Java, the victim was still able to continue his education by participating in online teaching and learning activities.

"This is a good practice in Sidoarjo, I see that the victim can still go to school. That school has gone online to take care of his feelings (victims)," he said.

His party saw that in a number of cases of sexual violence, the public and the environment had the awareness to embrace and protect victims.

"Not only in urban areas, even in remote areas, people have begun to educate that we must protect victims, because the victims are our families as well," he said.

He also hopes that this good practice can be an example for other regions to always protect victims of sexual violence.

"Hopefully in the future it will continue to be an inspiration in every region, as well as regional leaders to provide education to the public to protect and support the recovery of victims," he concluded.
