TANJUNG SELOR - Bulungan Resort Police (Polres) has officially upgraded to the Bulungan City Police (Polresta) with the presence of Tanjung Selor who is the capital city of North Kalimantan (Kaltara).

"Congratulations on the increase in status from the police to the Bulungan Police. Increase coordination with local governments and the community to maintain development synergies," said North Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya when inaugurating the increase in the status of the Bulungan Police in Tanjung Selor, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 1.

The inauguration was marked by the pressing of the siren button by the Regional Police Chief together with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of North Kalimantan and Bulungan Regency. They also released balloons and pigeons.

Kapolda melanjutkan kenaikan status ini berdasarkan sejumlah pertimbangan. Antara lain seiring perkembangan wilayah dan situasi sosial ekonomi yang turut berkembang.

"This dynamic is followed by development with the dynamics of the security and social security situation. With the status of the Polresta the challenges ahead will continue to grow. So the number and quality of personnel will develop, be promoted, and increase the number of personnel," he said.

Representing the Governor of North Kalimantan, Assistant I of the North Kalimantan Provincial Secretariat, Datu Iqro Ramadhan, said that the North Kalimantan Regional Police and the Bulungan Police faced major challenges with the presence of a number of National Strategic Projects (PSN) in Kaltara and the 2024 Simultaneous Elections and Pilkada.

"But these challenges can be overcome if communication and synergy with the Regional Government, TNI, leaders, and the entire community can be maintained and cared for," he said.
